Monroe County Community College, LIUNA (Laborers International Union of North America) Training Michigan, Monroe-Lenawee AFL-CIO Labor Council, and Local 671 Monroe (Plumbers, Pipefitters, HVAC and Welders) will host an Apprenticeship and Building Trades Information Session on July 29 from 4-6 p.m. at the Arthur Lesow Community Center.
The Arthur Lesow Community Center is located at 120 Eastchester St. in Monroe.
At the session, participants will be able to explore careers in the building trades and discover how apprenticeship programs can lead to rewarding, high demand careers.
The session is free and open to the public but registration is required. Light refreshments will be provided.
The following topics will be covered:
- What is an apprenticeship?
- How to become an apprentice
- Benefits of apprenticeship training
- Career opportunities in the building trades
Participants will be able to meet with building trades representatives, community partners and representatives from Monroe County Community College's Applied Science and Engineering Technology Division and Office of Admissions.
