MCCC AWARDS 2026 PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLARSHIPS

MONROE, Mich. – Monroe County Community College has awarded Presidential Scholarships covering tuition and related fees to Cayeleah Hester, Ethan Jacob, Abigail Marckel, Alayna Markey, Grace Ross, Jayanna Willets and Addyson Wilt.

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must be Monroe County, Michigan residents, have a 3.5 GPA or higher and be committed to 12-credit hours or more each semester at MCCC. Scholarship recipients must also demonstrate strong leadership and active participation in their school or community.
 

Cayleah Hester

Hester, of Erie, is a 2026 Mason High School graduate.She is undecided on her major. She is active at her high school and participates in the band. Hester is the daughter of Cassandra and David Hester.
 

Ethan Jacob

Jacob, of Petersburg, is a 2026 Summerfield High School graduate. He will study nursing at MCCC. He has a passion for bowling and is a part of the “Bulldog Buddies” program at PHS where seniors do crafts and activities with assigned kindergarteners. Jacob is the son of David and Peggy Jacob.
 

Abigail Markel

Marckel, of Lambertville, is a 2026 Bedford High School graduate.She will study respiratory therapy at MCCC. Marckel is the media lead for Bedford Robotics, the senior captain for Bedford Sideline and Competitive Cheerleading, and is a National Honor Society member. She is the daughter of Andrew and Laura Marckel.
 

Alayna Markey

Markey, of La Salle, is a 2026 Ida High School graduate. She will study the health sciences at MCCC. Markey is the secretary to the National Honor Society and enjoys varsity track and field. She is a leader at her high school, sitting on both the Student and Class of 2026 Councils and being president of the Key Club. Her mother is Amy Markey.
 

Grace Ross

Ross, of Lambertville, is a 2026 Whiteford High School graduate. She will study the arts at MCCC. Ross is a member of the National Honor Society and engages with various groups at her high school, including marching band, solo and concert band, choir, robotics and Tabletop Club. She is the daughter of James and Jennifer Ross.


 

Willets, of Monroe, is a 2026 Mason High School graduate. She will study nursing at MCCC. She is a member of the National Honor Society and is affiliated with her high school’s yearbook, student prevention leadership team, varsity volleyball and varsity softball. She is the daughter of Shannon Clayfield and Jason Willets.

 

Addyson Wilt

Wilt, of Ida, is a 2026 Ida High School graduate. Wilt will study nursing at MCCC. She is a member of the National Honor Society and is  involved with her high school’s peer-accelerated learning, tutoring, student leadership, varsity volleyball and varsity track and field. She is the daughter of Bill and Gaye Wilt.
