MCCC OFFERING REAL ESTATE FUNDAMENTALS COURSE

Monroe County Community College’s Office of Lifelong Learning is offering a 5-week Real Estate Fundamentals course that begins May 26.

Classes will meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.

The course will provide a comprehensive overview of real estate law, rules and regulations, contracts, financing, ownership, brokerage, valuation and fair housing. To develop students' understanding of real estate in practice, the course will incorporate relevant laws that affect real estate transactions into in-class instruction.

Aspiring real estate agents, investors and others desiring a more thorough knowledge of the subject will benefit concepts and terminology covered in the course.

Specifically designed to meet the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs’ prelicensure requirement, the course covers 40 hours of state-licensed instruction.

Registration is underway through Monday, May 25. The cost of the course is $299 and includes the cost of text and materials. Note that students must attend all 40 hours of instruction and pass the final exam for a passing grade.

Upon successful completion of the course, students have the opportunity to take the Michigan Real Estate Exam, overseen by AMP, to obtain their real estate salesperson license. Once licensed, these individuals will be permitted to practice real estate within the scope of their license.
