The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Dr. Florence Ames Fine Art Scholarship to Benjamin Fry and Courtney Patton. Each $850 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees and books.
Fry, of Monroe, is a 2023 graduate of Success Virtual Learning Center. He is currently studying fine arts and graphic design at MCCC. Fry is the president of the Art Club and works at the Writing Center on campus. He is the son of Dawn and Eric Fry.
Patton, of Rockwood, is a 2023 graduate of Lakeshore Virtual High School. She is currently working towards her art degree at MCCC. She volunteers for Wyandotte Goodfellows. Patton is the daughter of Jennifer Stringham and Michael Patton.
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must be full-time, second-year students with a concentration in art and have a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average.
