The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the President Emeritus Dr. Ronald Campbell and Blondelle Campbell Scholarship to Jackson Amaya and Lilliana Barth. Each $1,200 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees, books and supplies.
Amaya, of Carleton, is a 2023 graduate of Airport High School. He is studying business management at MCCC and is a member of the Basketball Club. He participated in the Four Man Ladder Internship program. Amaya is the son of Tino Amaya and Kathy Norman.
Barth, of Monroe, is a 2025 graduate of Ida High School. She is studying respiratory therapy at MCCC. While attending IHS, she was involved in concert and marching bands. Barth is the daughter of Brittany Barth and Brandon Barth.
To be eligible, the student must be a resident of Monroe County, Michigan, demonstrate academic excellence and maintain at least a part-time enrollment at MCCC. Preference will be given to a student who is an active member of the MCCC Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and demonstrates financial need.
