The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Captain Joseph M. Liedel Memorial Scholarship to Kalynn Maddox. The $1,750 scholarship is to be used for tuition, books, and fees.
Maddox, of Temperance, is a 2025 homeschool graduate. She is studying criminal justice while at MCCC. Maddox is the president of the Criminal Justice Club on campus and has participated in the Law Enforcement Career Academy. She has martial arts experience. Maddox is the daughter of April and Josh Maddox.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be a Monroe County resident and a current or former Monroe County firefighter or the sibling, child or grandchild of a firefighter.
