The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Dannielle Lambert Memorial Scholarship to Celena Bakr. The $950 Winter 2026 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees, books and supplies.
Bakr, of Monroe, is a 2017 graduate of Monroe High School. She is pursuing a nursing degree at MCCC. She has recently been involved with the Latin Student Association. Celena is the daughter of Abdel-aziz Bakr and Melissa Bakr.
To be eligible for this scholarship a student must have participated in the MCCC Upward Bound program at MCCC, be a Monroe County, MI, resident and be enrolled at least part-time. Preference will be given to a Monroe High School graduate, Monroe, MI.
