The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Education Plus Credit Union Scholarship to Kendra Carpenter. The $1,300 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees, books and supplies.
Carpenter, of Monroe, is a 2025 graduate of Airport High School. She is studying early childhood development while at MCCC. Her goal is to one day open up a daycare for her community. She currently volunteers at Trinity Christian Church and the Oaks of Righteousness. Carpenter is the daughter of Leah Osborne.
To be eligible for this scholarship, the recipient must be a member of the Directions Credit Union, must maintain part-time enrollment status, defined as six credit hours or more, and may be either a first- or second-year student.
