The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Eric Hario Memorial Scholarship to Kira Tenney. The $500 scholarship can be used for tuition and fees.
Tenney, of Lambertville, is a 2025 graduate of Whiteford Agricultural High School. She is pursuing a nursing degree at MCCC and works in patient care. Tenney is the daughter of Brian Tenney and Mary Tenney-Dillon.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be a veteran or a spouse, child, adopted child or grandchild of an honorably discharged veteran, must submit a copy of the veteran’s DD-214, must be a Monroe County, MI, resident and submit a 250-300 word essay answering the question “What does Americanism mean to you? Students with a family member who belongs to AMVETS will be given preference.
