The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the George Rhodes Scholarship to Sara Hetzel. The $250 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees, supplies and books.
Hetzel, of Monroe, is a 2009 graduate of Monroe High School. She is pursuing an associate of arts degree from MCCC and serves as a Writing Fellow. Sara is the daughter of Dawn Hetzel and James Hetzel.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must maintain part-time enrollment (enrolled in six credit hours) during the scholarship year and maintain a 3.0 grade point average. The student must have worked at least one semester in a tutoring program recognized by the Student Success Center or an academic division at MCCC and remain active in the tutoring program during the scholarship year.
