The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Mariya Heinzerling Memorial Scholarship, formerly the Student Nurses Association Scholarship, to Claudia Biundo. The $500 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees, books and supplies.
Biundo, of Monroe, is a 2023 graduate of Monroe High School. She is in the nursing program at MCCC and is a member of the Student Nurses Association. She actively donates to community animal shelters and nursing homes. Biundo is the daughter of Francesco and Maria Biundo.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be enrolled in the registered nursing program or licensed practical nursing certificate program at MCCC, be a member of the MCCC Student Nurses Association and have a 3.4 grade point average or higher.
