The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Monroe Aging Consortium Health Sciences Scholarship Anjolie Smith and Lauren Strojny. Each $1,250 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees, supplies and books.
Smith, of Monroe, is a 2023 graduate of Monroe High School. She is working towards completing her practical nursing certificate to bridge over to the registered nursing program at MCCC. She works for the local non-profit ambulance service in Monroe County. Smith is the daughter of Joseph and Rebecca Smith.
Strojny, of Temperance, is a 2018 graduate of Edsel Ford High School, Dearborn, MI. She is currently in the respiratory therapy program at MCCC. Strojny is the daughter of Vicki and Marty Strojny.
To be eligible for this scholarship, the student must be pursuing a health sciences certificate or degree, a resident of the state of Michigan and have a 2.5 grade point average, with the highest preference given to a student with a demonstrated financial need.
