The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Patricia A. Vajcner Memorial Scholarship to Ella Mansfield and Caleb Sandy. The $1,450 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees and books.
Mansfield, of Monroe, is a 2024 graduate of Jefferson High School. She is studying welding technology at MCCC. Mansfield is the daughter of Charles and Rebecca Mansfield.
Sandy, of Blissfield, is a 2025 homeschool graduate. He is in the automotive service technology certificate program at MCCC. Sandy is keen on starting his career locally, and he leads a small Bible study every week. Sandy is the son of Katherine and Thomas Sandy.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be pursuing a degree or certificate that will prepare them to enter the skilled trades, with strong preference given to a student who is in the product and process technology program and maintains at least part-time enrollment at MCCC. Financial need may be considered in awarding this scholarship.
