The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Richard and Marjorie Sieb Scholarship to Shanelda Holloway. The $1,000 scholarship is to be used for tuition, books and fees.
Holloway, of Newport, obtained her GED in 2010 at Wayne County Community College. She is studying nursing while attending MCCC. She is currently a certified nurse aide. Holloway’s spouse is Durell Holloway, and she is the mother of Braxton.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be a Monroe County, Michigan, resident, a United States citizen and maintain at least part-time enrollment status of six credit hours or more. In addition, the donor prefers to assist a student returning to school after a period of other activities and who demonstrates financial need.
