The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Rotary Club of Monroe Scholarship to Rhiley Smith. The $1,250 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees, books and supplies.
Smith, of Deerfield, is a 2026 graduate of Summerfield High School. She is studying either business management or nursing while attending MCCC. While attending SHS, she was a National Honor Society member and cleaned up for Adopt-A-Highway. Smith is the daughter of Megan Smith.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be a graduate of a high school located in Monroe County, Michigan, and must be enrolled full-time during their scholarship year. Full-time enrollment is defined as twelve (12) billable contact hours or more per semester (during fall and winter semesters). The character of the scholarship recipient must be compatible with Rotary’s core values of integrity, service, fellowship, leadership and diversity. Financial need must also be considered in awarding the scholarship.
