The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the William J. and Jennie E. Bacarella Scholarship to Carressa Johnson. The $1,350 scholarship is to be used for tuition, books and fees.
Johnson, of Newport, is a 2012 graduate of Orchard High School. She is studying business management while attending MCCC. Johnson is the daughter of Cindy Gage and Tony Plott.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be majoring in a business-related curriculum, maintain a part-time enrollment status of six credit hours or more and be a resident of Monroe County, Michigan. In addition, the donor prefers non-traditional students and graduates of St. Mary Catholic Central High School.
