TURNING POINT USA STUDENT CLUB OFFICIALLY RECOGNIZED AT MONROE COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE

MONROE, Mich. -- Monroe County Community College President Dr. Kojo A. Quartey announced this morning that a joint appeal committee unanimously decided to recognize Turning Point USA at MCCC as an official student club.

Per college procedure, the decision of the joint committee is final and consistent with the policies of the Board of Trustees and rules and regulations of the college.

In December, the Student Government Association appealed the vice president of enrollment management and student success's decision to support students in the formation of a Turning Point USA at MCCC club after SGA had originally voted to deny the club’s petition.

Turning Point USA has been added to the list of student clubs and organizations on MCCC’s website at https://www.monroeccc.edu/clubs-organizations.

Turning Point USA at Monroe County Community College lists its purpose as to “educate and organize students around the values of limited government, free markets and individual liberty. It provides a platform for young people to engage in dialogue, host events and connect with likeminded peers. Ultimately, the goal is to empower the next generation of leaders to advocate for conservative principles on their campuses and in their communities.”
