Monroe County Community College is pleased to announce the Fall 2019 Semester Dean’s List. To qualify for the Dean’s List, a student must complete 12 or more hours and earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. Nominations Sought for Alumnus of the Year and College Supporter of the Year

The community is encouraged to submit nominations for Alumnus of the Year by February 7. Nominations for College Supporter of the Year are due March 15. Read Press Release

RESPIRATORY THERAPY CAREER INFORMATION SESSIONS SCHEDULED AT MCCC ON FEB. 13

The Respiratory Therapy Program at Monroe County Community College will host RT career information sessions for the public on Thursday, February 13, 2020. Three sessions will be offered at 12:30 - 1:45 p.m., 3 - 4:15 p.m. and 6:30 - 7:45 p.m. The information sessions will be in Room 157 or 159 of the Welch Health Education Building, located on the main campus of MCCC, 1555 S. MCCC REGISTERED NURSING PROGRAM RANKED NO. 1 IN MICHIGAN

MONROE, Mich. – NursingProcess.org has ranked Monroe County Community College’s Registered Nursing program No. 1 in Michigan for 2020. Based on its ranking methodology, after thoroughly analyzing 72 schools approved by the Michigan Board of Nursing, the online guide to nursing and healthcare education ranked the best schools at which to pursue an associate degree program in nursing. INFORMATIONAL MEETINGS SET FOR 2021 HEALTH CARE-FOCUSED STUDY ABROAD TRIP

NATIONALLY TOURING, HOMEGROWN COMEDIAN ANDY PETERS TO PERFORM AT MCCC

Nationally touring comedian Andy Peters, who hails from Monroe, will return home to perform his stand-up act at Monroe County Community College on Saturday, Feb. 1. MCCC OFFERS CERTIFIED NURSING AIDE COURSE, NEW STERILE PROCESSING TECHNICIAN PROGRAM

This winter, Monroe County Community College will offer a four-week Certified Nursing Aide course and a new, 12-week Sterile Processing Technician program. Both are noncredit, medical career training tracks. Each awards continuing education units upon completion. MCCC RECEIVES LARGEST INDIVIDUAL GIFT IN ITS HISTORY

Monroe County Community College has received the largest donation by an individual in its 55-year history. At a ceremony held today at Monroe County Community College, Gary J. Vajcner, a local businessman and philanthropist, donated $1.1 million to The Foundation at MCCC in memory of his wife, Patricia A. Vajcner, and in tribute to the life they built together. MCCC AWARDED $330,000 IN GRANTS FROM DTE ENERGY FOUNDATION

Monroe County Community College has been awarded two grants totaling $330,000 from the DTE Energy Foundation to improve access to educational and employment opportunities in Monroe County, with special focus on underserved populations, MCCC President Dr. Kojo A. Quartey and DTE Energy Foundation manager Dana Williams announced at news conference tonight. The first grant of $300,000 will be used by the college over a three-year period to recruit and retain approximately 1,500 students studying in the disciplines of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) through a new STEM Scholars Program.
